Another Sermon Snippet!

I believe the Beatitudes in Matthew 5 are the lense that the whole of Jesus' teaching is built. I have been working through Jesus' strong teaching on not looking for an easy out from a marriage covenant. I was struck with the idea of applying the beatitudes to marriage and here is what I a came up with:

The Beattitudes of Marriage

1. Blessed ar those who know their marriage needs help because they will see God work.

2. Blessed are those who see what they have done to hurt their marriage- for God will encourage them.

3. Blessed are those who don’t always have to be “right” in an argument with their spouse, “ God has their back!

4. Blessed are those who have a vision for what their marriage could be, because a vision like that can come true!
Or... Blessed are those who always want to work on their marriages- for they will see change take place.

5. Blessed are those who forgive their spouse, because they will find forgiveness too!

6. Blessed are those who want God’s best for their spouse, for they will see God work.

7. Blessed are those who try to build common ground with their spouse instead of being easily offended. Because they will be workers of reconciliation just like God!

8. Blessed are those who continue to fight for there marriage even when friends and family are not supportive- Their allegiance is to God first, and to His way of doing life.
