a thought from Richard Foster . . .

"Because the counter-culture has always lacked a positive center it has inevitably degenerated into trivia."

--Richard Foster- Celebration of Discipline p 81, 1978

??????

everyone should get this book. It is a desert island sort of book.

THis quote in context is more powerful with a richer clarity.

Dan-- what I find SO REFRESHING about you and Annie, and so many in our baby church is that you guys are not armchair critics- you are full on participants who are engaging culture rather than critiquing the ways other Christians go about it. To identify oneself as counter cultural is to declare from the rooftops that you are a knee-jerk. I prefer trans-cultural myself. (Christ transforming culture)

The real revolution is much more fun.
