Out of the mouths of babes . . .

Kathleen sweetly remarks, "Mommy, I'm so proud of you and daddy, you hardly fight anymore . . . you guys are sure growing up."

Lake Blog 1

Right Now I'm at Lake Erie with my family. I forgot my cel-phone recharger- so if you gotta get ahold of me- e-mail is your best bet. (Karl F- I ran out of juice when we were talking-- sorry)

I bought a pound of Yeah Me Too! Coffee (Peru is the next Chiapas!) Thanks to some instruction from Jovan I think I am working the French press better than before.

I'm trying to sketch out Sunday teachings for the rest of the year. Thanks to Mark Kehlmeier for doing all the heavy lifting in advance for me!

Reading:
Finished "Chronicles" by Bob Dylan
Now Reading: "The Life and Miracles of Saint Cuthbert, Bishop of Lindisfarne" by the Venerable Bede
(I've had this on my to-do list for over five years!)
"Jesus and the Victory of God"-- NT Wright (this is taking forever- but it is quite an awesome read)
listening
to nothing! Silence- (actually I'm listening to Ian breathe while he sleeps, I'm blogging at his bedside)

praying with the kids

As I was tucking Ian to bed, I asked him what he wanted to pray about. He replied:

"Dad, pray that I can have a good day tommorrow."

so we prayed and I asked him what else he wanted us to pray about. He replied:

"Dad, I want to thank Jesus that Nichols is not bullying me anymore."

so we prayed and I asked him if he had anything else he wanted to talk to God about. He replied:

"I want God to stop all hurricanes."

so we prayed and I asked again, he replied:

"I want God to stop all Salamis!"

I asked him what a Salami was and he said:

"Dad, a Salami is a giant wave- and it washes the life out of people, and I want Jesus to protect all the people."

So we prayed.

When Kathleen and I were praying she was telling me about a friend of her and Elena Fruechtnicht that does not know how much Jesus loves her (Kathleen's words). She started crying because she doesn't believe in Jesus. We prayed for her.

I love my kids.

Still Reading Bob Dylan Chronicles

Thought for the now--

If I spent as much effort on looking at my lifestyle as it compares to Jesus' lifestyle- as I do at evaluating other peoples- especially public figures- I'd lead a much more interesting life.

I love learning how to do Pilates with Adrienne- She is kicking my rear end (Lord diminish my territory)

I love Kathleen's artwork.
