WE GOT ONE!

"We Got One!"

--Janine, the receptionist, from the film Ghostbusters upon receiving their first customer.

For the past several months we hav been praying that Carson Dellesky, Jamie and Teddy's baby, would be healed. He had some kind of intestinal hernia that required surgery. We have prayed for this little guys many times and Jamie had recently had a feeling that they should get him scanned again to see if the hernia went away. Most Dr.s would see this as a waste of time, but our friend Dr. Ali Carine trusted mom's instinct (Ali rocks) and ordered another scan that revealed that Carson was healed. Thank you Jesus, now if we could just have a bit more please!

Jamie wrote about it in her blog.

Big Week!

This Sunday Adrienne and I were officially commissioned by VIneyard Church Columbus to plant a church in the Clintonville Area. Rich Nathan and several other pastors prayed for Adrienne and I at all three of the weekend services at VCC. Joanne Kay planned a real nice reception for us following each of the services where we were able to connect with lotsa friends and well wishers. Thanks a million Joanne.

So now Central Vineyard has officially started. Next wednsday our second home group starts meeting, and our first women's group is in the process of starting. I'm still bustin my hynee trying to get all of our ducks in order, but we are making definite progress. Today I got together with Gary Wolfe and JMC and we were able to pray for every single person who is ocming with us in this endeavor. Good time.

I am so grateful for the growth, fun, and challanges of the last 5 years as a staff member at VCC. I'm so glad that it is not necessary for us to start from scratch in figuring out this church stuff. I'm sure that our little congregation will have it's own flavor, but we are not seeking to reinvent the wheel.

Our home group meetings have been great. There is a certain electricity in the air when you see people connecting with each-other, and with God. This family of people is so willing to inconvenience themselves for each-other. There have already been profound opportunities for people to BE the Body of Christ.

What a sad place we live in sometimes.

So many broken hearts are to be found. Poverty takes o many faces, spiritual poverty, social poverty, familial poverty, financial poverty. . .

This post from Mike Burkett's blog made me very sad.

I compare this ladies life with mine:

Today I met with John Greathouse and Kris Backstrom, whose wedding I am honored to officiate at the end of the month.
Today I had lunch with Ben Rosen, who I will miss working with.
Kerry Davis about broke my neck giving me a hug to send me off!
Dave Webster decline the opportunity to beat me after I disconnected all the cables at his desk.
Today I shared conversations with many friends.
Today I gave scooter rides to Ian and Kathleen around the block and thru the alley (traversing sidewalks) Ian and I watch a garder snake cross the alley.
Today I had dinner with Adrienne and the Kids.

I wish more people had my life. Perhaps that's pompous or egotistical, but I'm just trying to say that I'm grateful for what I got.

I pray that God will bring all the people like Mike's friend into our fold. This world sucks if you go it alone.

Thank You Jesus.

I'm Back!

Wow, where to start. . . Here are the cliff notes:

July 4th, Central Vineyard Goes Public at a July 4th outreach at Whetstone Park of Roses, handed out 1300 cans of coke to the masses.
Leaving staff at VCC on July 15th
VCC is sending us off at their main services on July 17th & 18th
Getting ready to birth our 2nd home group two weeks from now.
Moved into my office at Elementville
Currently visiting My sister Elizabeth Jackson and her husband Jeff and my rockin' nephew Owen!
2 houses adjacent to me are for sale, would you be my neighbor?
Spider-Man II- 28 years of Geekdom justified!

On a disheartening note, found out that Don Harvey is being sentenced Wednesday July 28th at 369 South Hight St courtroom 7B at 9:00pm. Apparently he is up for a 5th degree felonee, which will probably only result in probabtion, meaning Don can move on once again to find young men to prey on, on the internet, at a church, etc. Pray that his family don't help conceal Don's past of child exploitation. Check the links bar to find out about Don. We should all show up at the sentencing to pressure the Judge.
